Education, Training, Jobs
According to the North Central Accountability of Health Central Washington Hospital 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment, "The rate of those with no high school diploma has decreased slightly, however, the regional averages remain much higher than the state and national averages. Of significance, is the notable disparity between the Hispanic/Latino population and the non-Hispanic/Latino population". In addition, "poverty and unemployment were identified as a particular challenge in each of the counties in North Central Washington. It was noted in more than one assessment that the rates of poverty and unemployment are higher in each county in the service area than the state or national averages". Because of these challenges, focus on education, training and jobs is paramount when addressing whole person health rural communities in Douglas, Chelan, Okanogan and Grant Counties.
